Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level II trauma facility, covering a neonatal to geriatric patient population across all hospital departments.

• Acute care hospital setting at a Level II trauma center
• Respiratory Therapy department covering all areas throughout the facility, including NICU, ICU, surgical, medical, and cardiac units
• Patient population spans neonatal to geriatric, including Level II trauma, NICU, ICU, surgical, medical, and cardiac cases
• RT equipment includes Airvo, PB 840 Vent, PB 980 Vent, Hamilton C1, MR1, and V-60 Respironics
• Epic EMR used in this position
• 12-hour shifts available on days (0600–1830) or nights (1800–0630)
• Rotating weekends every third weekend
• Holiday coverage required every third holiday
• Float requirement: first to float throughout the facility

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience
• NICU experience required
• Active RRT or CRT credential required
• Current, active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP — pending certifications will not be accepted
• Active state or compact (NLC) RT license for the state of practice required; pending licenses will not be accepted — license required if applicable
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates may not currently be or have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• RTs are expected to work independently, exercise strong clinical judgment, and collaborate closely with physicians
• RTs are well-respected across all disciplines, and the team is described as friendly and supportive
• RTO of 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract must be requested upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
