Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring active travel experience, TNCC certification, and Epic charting experience.

• General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric population
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Epic EMR — experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Experience with triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Pediatric patient care experience required
• Candidates must reside outside of the following TX counties to be eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Preferred skills include management of shock/trauma cases (gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation), CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and ortho trauma
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted — individual applicants only
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• All RTO requests must be disclosed at the time of consideration
• Onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation and average 4–6 hours for RNs
