Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Post Acute Long Term Care (LTC) position in Maine, requiring a ME or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience.

Details

Long-term care (LTC) and skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting
Unit options include a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia specialized unit (3 East), a 42-bed Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU) focused on short-term skilled nursing and rehab, and a 42-bed general long-term care unit (3 West)
Patient population includes Alzheimer's/dementia residents, long-term care residents, and short-term rehab patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other conditions
Nursing services may include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Floating to other units required as needed
Schedule requires flexibility to support 24/7 coverage

Requirements

Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
Current BLS/BCLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Strong teamwork and communication skills required
Medical terminology preferred
Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary care team

Additional Information

Provides direct and indirect care to residents and patients in partnership with a multidisciplinary care team
Care for Alzheimer's/dementia residents requires proficiency in both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and an understanding of behavioral expressions as valid communication
Local candidates are welcome to apply but will receive a reduced local pay rate
Previous employees of this facility are not eligible for consideration
Candidates with licensure compliance issues will not be considered
