Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg float pool position on a night shift 8-week contract, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based Staffing Response Team/float pool position covering ICU, Intermediate Care, Med-Surg, and ED holding areas
- Staff float to units within their qualified area and certifications
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours weekly
- 8-week contract assignment
- Weekends required on an every-other-weekend (EOW) basis
- Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday (EOH) basis
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
- BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
- Assess patient education needs and provide relevant patient/family education
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
- Identify and address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning
- Assess and anticipate discharge planning needs for patients and families
- Participate in unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care initiatives
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
