Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care/PCU position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Intermediate Care/PCU/DOU/Stepdown unit of a hospital environment
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Uses Epic charting system
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license currently in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and management/interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and insulin drip titration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive intermediate/stepdown level nursing care to a variety of patient populations including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, renal, and orthopedic cases
- Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
- Not accepting candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
- Not accepting candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties
- Travel pairs or groups not accepted
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Must complete required onboarding modules onsite during orientation
