Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and an active GA or Compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital emergency department setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of ED/ER nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, TNCC
- Required skills: care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage
- Preferred skills: procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Copies of all applicable certifications required for consideration
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- All RTO must be finalized prior to or at the time of submission; no RTO or schedule requests can be made after offer or onsite
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- If 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them — no holiday RTO will be approved
- If 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work 2 of them — one holiday RTO request may be considered for approval
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Former permanent, per diem, or FCSS employees must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for a full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who previously canceled or received a facility DNR must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
- No alternate shift or schedule requests will be accommodated — the posted night shift is firm
- All compliance documents must be submitted by the Tuesday prior to the start date; core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
