Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Main Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience, a pediatric ED skillset, and multiple advanced certifications including TNCC and ENPC.

Details

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Main ED unit in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department
• Patient population spans all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR (preferred experience)
• Required clinical skills include triage, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV insertion and management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Preferred clinical skills include arterial line management, central line care, neurological care, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, ABG interpretation, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand required
• Required certifications in hand at time of consideration: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience required (hard stop)
• Must have a pediatric ED skillset; dedicated PEDS ED experience strongly preferred, though strong pediatric experience in a mixed adult/pediatric ED may be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible (hard stop)
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Blackout dates for RTO: October 29–31
• Candidates must go into labs within 48–72 hours of accepting an offer
• Orientation modules may be completed onsite or at home prior to start, and are repeated annually
