Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience, a strong pediatric skill set, and multiple advanced certifications including TNCC, ENPC, and PALS.

Details

  • Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting in a hospital environment
  • Serves a broad patient age range: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • No floating required
  • Epic EMR (preferred experience)
  • Key procedures and skills utilized include triage, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and isolation precautions

Requirements

  • Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Minimum 3 years of ED experience required (hard stop)
  • Strong pediatric ED skill set required; PEDS ED experience strongly preferred, but significant PEDS experience in a mixed ED setting is acceptable
  • Required certifications, all must be in hand: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), TNCC, ENPC, PALS
  • Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible (hard stop)
  • Proficiency with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with ventilated patients required
  • Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Preferred certifications include CPI and PCAR
  • Preferred experience includes Level I Trauma Center, arterial line management, central line care/management, neurological and ortho-trauma cases, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, ABG interpretation, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation
  • Teaching hospital and Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred
  • Blackout dates for requested time off: October 29–31
  • Orientation modules may be completed onsite or remotely prior to start date and are recorded by the facility
