Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring SC or compact RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Care for inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, MI, unstable angina, and Coronary Artery Disease
• Patient population may include those receiving IV antiarrhythmic therapy, vasoactive infusions, and anticoagulation
• Perform special procedures including vasoactive drug administration, antiarrhythmic drug therapy, thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation/cardioversion, and thoracentesis
• Utilizes cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring equipment
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 1900-0730
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Floating required to like units or other facilities depending on census needs

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field required
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac telemetry unit preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to cardiac telemetry patients including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Orientation occurs every Monday with annual compliance requirements
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated
