Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, prior travel assignment experience, and C-EFM certification in hand.

Details

• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:50 AM – 7:20 PM
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating required to Mother/Baby and scrub roles
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner EMR (preferred)
• Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Antepartum and high-risk obstetrical patient population
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, C-EFM (through NCC), NRP, and STABLE
• Preferred certifications: ACLS and AWHONN Advanced
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required; 3 years strongly preferred
• At least one completed travel assignment (or one month of per diem) required for consideration
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the past 3 years
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Proficiency in L&D skills including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section recovery, hemorrhage/shock management, EFM (external and internal), IUPC placement, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Scrub experience (preferred)
• Charge experience (preferred)
• Cerner EMR experience (preferred)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include antepartum triage, fetal monitoring, assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, postpartum care, neonatal care in the delivery room, and medication administration including Pitocin, antihypertensives, and antiseizure medications
• Scrub training experience is a plus, as scrub floating is required
• Teaching hospital and trauma experience are preferred
• Former MedStar employees must have been separated for a minimum of one year before being considered for this position
• Candidates may only be submitted to one MedStar location at a time
• No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• All RTO requests must be disclosed prior to consideration and cannot be changed once the profile is under review
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted; candidate's address must match their driver's license to determine local status
• Interviews with the hiring manager are not guaranteed
