Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience and at least one prior travel assignment.
Details
- Work setting includes the Cath Lab and EP Lab within a hospital environment
- IR experience is preferred but not required
- Patient census averages 15–20 per day across 4 procedure rooms
- Shift schedule is either 3x12-hour days (7:00–19:00) or 4x10-hour days (7:00–17:00)
- Floating required within Cath Lab and EP Lab
- On-call required approximately 5–10 shifts per month, with a full weekend every 4–6 weeks
- Every other weekend is required
- Equipment used includes MacLab, ACIST-IVUS, Phillips Imaging, HI IQ, MUSE, Xcelra, RAD-NET, DMS, and INVISION
- Charting is performed in Cerner
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab/EP Lab RN experience required
- At least one prior travel assignment required for consideration
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; a driver's license will be required to verify address
- Proficiency in Cath Lab and EP Lab skills including cardiac catheterizations (left and right heart), PCI, cardiac ablation, pacemaker insertion, IABP placement/removal, sheath removal, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Experience with medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, and reversal agents
Additional Information
- Precepting of other staff is required in this role
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum score of 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms prior to start
- Candidates who have previously worked for MedStar must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Candidates may only be submitted to one MedStar location at a time
- A manager interview is not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one
- No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
- Facility-specific compliance modules must be completed within one week of contract signing
- Labs and DS appointment must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
