Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 3rd Floor Overflow unit, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital-based position on a 3rd Floor Overflow/Medicine Specialty unit
- Med/Surg and step-down patient population with cases ranging from simple to complex
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
- Floating to any area of the hospital is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg and step-down experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Full date of birth (DOB) and full SSN required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, including documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products, and assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Communicates care plans to patients and families, including discharge planning and referrals to appropriate personnel
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must have a 6-month separation period after 26 cumulative weeks before being eligible to apply for a new contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer — start dates will not be pushed for non-compliance
