Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a day shift ICU position in Washington State, requiring an active WA or compact RN license and at least one year of RN experience.
Details
- Day shift schedule in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting
- 13-week contract
- Serves a patient population requiring intensive and critical care, including total joint replacement cases
- RN functions in dual roles as both direct caregiver and care manager, overseeing and delegating to other nursing staff
- May be required to serve as Charge Nurse, including patient assignment delegation, coordinating admissions/discharges/transfers, and leading the unit
Requirements
- Active WA State RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- BLS (Healthcare Provider level, AHA or equivalent) required
- ACLS (AHA) certification required to be obtained within 6 months of hire
- PALS (AHA) and PEARS (AHA) certifications required to be obtained within 12 months of hire
- TNCC certification required to be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Moderate sedation training required to be completed within 12 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience preferred, with ICU or specialty nursing background
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs and perform CPR; physical strength to lift/push/pull 60–300 lbs with assistance
- Ability to ambulate and manage equipment for 8–12 hours per shift
Additional Information
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments including physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status
- Documents patient care via electronic medical records and/or paper processes per regulatory requirements
- RN-C certification is preferred
- Total joint program participation requires 4 hours of initial orientation training and 4 hours of annual continuing education
- Reports to the Nursing Department Director, House Supervisor, and Charge Nurse
