Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Austin, TX, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience along with EFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and C-section circulation competencies.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit located on the 4th floor of a hospital in Austin, TX
• 32-bed unit with a staff of approximately 150
• Patient population includes laboring patients undergoing SVD, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC procedures
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, supported by a charge nurse and co-charge nurse on both day and night shifts
• Equipment includes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound
• EMR: Meditech
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Rotating weekend schedule required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, AAP card), and STABLE
• Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification, or NCCEFM required
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience required
• EFM competency and SVE competency required
• C-section circulation experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• All certifications must remain valid through at least the first 30 days of the assignment

Additional Information

• Performs and assists with SVDs, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC procedures
• Internal fetal monitor placement competency is preferred
• Prior HCA assignment or employment is preferred
• Experience in a high-volume Level IV L&D unit is preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only — T-shirts are not acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
