Description

American Traveler is seeking a multi-modality CT/X-Ray Technologist with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift travel contract at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Work setting is an adult acute care and emergency department environment within a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds
  • Multi-modality role covering both CT and general X-Ray (Radiography)
  • CT procedures include abdomen/pelvis, head and neck, spine and musculoskeletal, chest, vascular CTA, coronary CTA, and cardiac studies (calcium scoring, coronary angiography)
  • Patient populations include adult acute care and emergency department; pediatric and adult outpatient experience is preferred
  • Skills include image post-processing such as 3D rendering (MIP, surface shaded displays, volume rendering), multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), and region of interest (ROI) measurement
  • Proficiency with contrast media preparation and administration, peripheral IV starts, and radiation safety protocols required
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with every 3rd weekend required
  • No on-call required
  • Floating to like units within scope is possible based on facility needs
  • Charting is performed in Epic
  • Siemens equipment and PACS system in use

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a multi-modality CT/X-Ray Technologist
  • Active ARRT registrations in both Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT) required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
  • SCRQSA certification required
  • SC license required if applicable
  • Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience in emergency, trauma, and pediatric settings highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Siemens equipment and PACS preferred
  • Experience with orthopedic exams in both CT and X-Ray modalities preferred
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Additional Information

  • Perform diagnostic imaging in both CT and general X-Ray modalities, producing quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners
  • Responsible for explaining procedures clearly to patients and ensuring competency in all performed exams
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital
  • Teal blue top and black bottom scrubs required
  • Orientation modules are completed pre-start and average approximately 4 hours
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; RTO requests submitted after will not be accepted
  • Travelers who were previously permanent or PRN staff at this health system must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
  • Radiation badges must be provided by the traveler's agency; they are not provided by the facility
