Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL RN license, EPIC experience, and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
- Night shift schedule (MIDS: 12:00PM-12:30AM), 36 hours per week over 3 shifts
- Includes a required 2-week nights rotation for all travelers
- Every other weekend (EOW) shift requirement
- Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
- On-call responsibilities include 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, each 13 hours, with expectation to be onsite within one hour if called
- No block scheduling available
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (American Heart Association)
- TNCC certification highly preferred
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
Additional Information
- Serve as the primary RN responsible for a designated group of ED patients, performing assessments, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions
- Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to modify care plans based on continuous evaluation
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation to support integrated care across the healthcare team
- Identify and report/correct safety hazards to promote a safe environment for patients and staff
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in ongoing professional development
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Assignment classified as a high-risk department position
