Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Ottumwa, IA, requiring C-section experience and active IA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting serving a broad surgical patient population including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and more
- Unit performs approximately 30–35 surgical cases per week
- C-section procedures are performed in this OR
- Da Vinci X Robot and Stryker equipment are in use
- Charting is done via Meditech EHR
- Shift hours are 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- On-call is self-scheduled: 1 weekday call shift per week and 1 weekend call shift within every 4-week period
- Floating is minimal and may occasionally include covering linen services or med/surg as a sitter (after training)
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1–2 years of acute care OR experience required
- C-section experience is required
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Robot-assisted surgical experience (Da Vinci) is a plus; candidates open to learning robotic techniques are encouraged to apply
- Must complete an Iowa SING background check including both criminal and child abuse portions prior to start
- All background check components (all counties and states) must be fully cleared prior to start — instant or statewide searches are not accepted
- Mandatory Reporter certification (Child and Adult) is required
- Drug screening must be a 10-panel test including opiates
- Immunization titers (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) must be dated within the last 12 months
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
