Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring Epic experience and CA licensure.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
- Unit includes 4 Triage, 11 LDR, 2 OR, NICU, and Post-Partum areas
- Supports low and high risk L&D with 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
- Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Required to work 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
- On-call is voluntary; RN may be placed on call if not needed for scheduled shift
- Floating required to Perinatal if needed
- Uses Epic and eMD Allscripts charting systems
- Uses Omnicell and SBAR communication systems
Requirements
- Active California RN license required at consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Allscripts charting experience preferred
- Skilled in external fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Experience circulating for C-sections required
- References required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across triage, LDR, OR, and post-partum settings
- Circulate for cesarean section procedures as needed
- Monitor and manage fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring
- Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
- Must work most holidays with limited holiday RTO consideration
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed for the contract
- All RTO must be submitted upfront and confirmed prior to assignment start
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
- Return staff reviewed on a case-by-case basis
