Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool ICU position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, with night shift scheduling and multi-ICU float requirements.

Details

• Float pool position requiring rotation across multiple ICUs, including MICU, TICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, CVICU, and Burn ICU
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending not accepted)
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPI, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Driver's license required for consideration
• At least two recent manager references required for consideration
• Any license hits must be disclosed along with a personal statement

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates who were permanent employees at any facility within this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
• Maximum of 5 days of RTO allowed for the duration of the contract
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
• Non-billable orientation modules are completed prior to the start date and range from 5–8 hours depending on specialty
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• Preferred experience includes Burn ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, and Trauma ICU settings
• Preferred advanced skills include ECMO management, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, TAVR, post cardiac surgery care, and liver/lung transplant nursing
