Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience, a strong pediatric ED skillset, and multiple advanced certifications including TNCC, ENPC, and PALS.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department in a hospital setting
• Patient population spans all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR (preferred)
• Required skills include: triage, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions, and pediatric skillset
• Preferred skills include: arterial line management, central line care/management, interpretation of ABGs, and experience with neurological, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation cases
• Preferred experience: Level I Trauma Center

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand required
• Current required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, and PALS — all must be in hand prior to consideration
• Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience required (hard stop)
• Must have a pediatric ED skillset; strong PEDS experience in a mixed adult/pedi ED is acceptable
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible (hard stop)
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for this position

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad patient population in a combined adult/pediatric ED environment
• Blackout dates for RTO: October 29–31
• Orientation modules may be completed onsite or remotely prior to start date and are required annually
• Labs must be completed within 48–72 hours of accepting an offer
