Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med Specialty Step Down unit position requiring at least one year of nursing experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift position working 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Med Specialty Step Down unit in a hospital setting
• Provides nursing care to patients with a range of health conditions, from simple to complex

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• ACLS certification from the AHA preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Step Down (MS/SD) experience required; ICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and collaborating with physicians on patient care
• Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates with interdisciplinary teams for patient referrals
• Educates patients and families on care plans and hospital procedures during admission and at discharge
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply; extensions are limited to one time for a maximum of 26 weeks total
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon booking
