Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level III NICU position requiring a TN or compact license and a minimum of 2 years of Level III NICU experience.
Details
- bed Level III NICU in a freestanding children's hospital
- Care for neonates ranging from 22 weeks gestation to term, including a high preemie population and surgical patients
- Provides respiratory support including high frequency oscillator, high frequency jet ventilation, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
- All patients arrive via the facility's active transport team
- Day shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- Every 3rd weekend required
- Float requirement to PICU and general pediatric floors for assignments involving patients under 2 years old
- Uses Omnicell medication system, transitioning to Pyxis in September
- Documentation completed in Meditech
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, NRP Advanced, and STABLE
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
- Meditech charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood products and emergency medications
- Experience with neonatal respiratory care including ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy preferred
- Experience with neonatal conditions such as NEC, sepsis, seizure disorders, and hyperbilirubinemia preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including respiratory support, line management, and medication administration
- Support developmental care, patient/family teaching, and breastfeeding/breast milk handling
- Care for a wide range of neonatal diagnoses including gastroschisis, NEC, seizure disorders, and neonatal sepsis
- Travelers may float to different units as needed based on facility requirements
- Travelers who have oriented at this facility within the past year are not required to reorient
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
