Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications, with night shift availability and a minimum of 1 year of experience.

Details

• 24-bed Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry unit
• Typical patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4
• Facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II Trauma, and Chest Pain Accredited facility with the ability to care for PCI and open-heart surgery patients
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Epic EMR; experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Requirements

• Active Idaho or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and emergency response
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Orientation modules are completed onsite and average 4–6 hours for RN candidates
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
