Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring an active State or Compact license and at least 1 year of PCU/telemetry experience.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry unit
- Comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma, and Chest Pain Accredited facility caring for PCI and open-heart surgery patients
- Typical staffing ratios of 1:3 or 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active State or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) required
- Non-invasive airway management skills required
Additional Information
- Provide progressive/stepdown level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of complex telemetry patients
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per facility protocol
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
- Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
