Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring Epic charting experience and a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, working night shifts on a 13-week contract.
Details
- Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation precautions, and SI with medical indications
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- Epic EMR; experience required
Requirements
- Active Idaho (ID) or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in IV therapy and phlebotomy, including accessing/managing ports, PICC line management, central line blood draws, and blood product administration
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, insulin and heparin administration, and PCA management
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups will be accepted
- RTO of no more than 3 days will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Orientation modules are completed onsite and average 4–6 hours for RNs
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
