Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience, with night shift availability and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Patient ratios are 1:1–2 in the PICU and 1:3 for intermediate care
• Charting is done via Epic
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend and applicable holidays required
• Float requirements include adolescents, pediatrics, PHOC, and NICU; ratios vary based on acuity

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required (2.5+ years in a large facility is ideal)
• CVVH and/or CRRT experience highly preferred
• Patient transport experience highly preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two current professional references required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include ventilator management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, vaccine administration, and PICU-level patient care
• ICP monitoring and CRRT experience are preferred additional skills
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• Scrub dress code: pediatric-friendly top with navy blue bottoms
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Any RTO or schedule requests must be submitted prior to offer — requests made after an offer will not be accommodated
• Candidates who fail competency exams must wait 6 months before reapplying
