Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 1 year of telemetry/stepdown experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• 24-bed Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry unit within a comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma, and Chest Pain Accredited facility
• Cares for complex cardiac patients including PCI and open-heart surgery cases
• Typical patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4
• Night shift schedule, working 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active State or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response including Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and non-invasive airway management

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to progressive care and stepdown patients requiring cardiac and telemetry monitoring
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
