Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool ICU position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, with floating across multiple ICU specialties.

Details

  • Float pool position requiring rotation across multiple ICUs, including MICU, TICU, Neuro ICU, CIVCU, SICU, and Burn ICU
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Holiday coverage required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active LA RN license or Compact license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
  • Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPI, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Proficiency in critical care skills including arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Two recent supervisor references required (dated within the last 12 months)
  • Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
  • Any license history issues must be disclosed along with a personal statement

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Former permanent employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
  • Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
  • Maximum of 5 days of RTO allowed for this assignment
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Pre-start orientation modules are required and are non-billable; RN modules typically range from 5–8 hours
  • Charge nurse experience is preferred
