Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Center (EC) position requiring 5+ years of experience, MEDITECH proficiency, and TNCC certification, working evening shifts at an acute care hospital in Georgia.
Details
- Evening shift position, 12-hour shifts (3p–3a)
- Works every other weekend and every other holiday
- Acute care Emergency Center setting handling approximately 180–200 patient visits per day
- Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, CVA, ortho, and neuro cases; facility is a CVA center
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Includes a 6-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psych
- Ventilator patients are held in the ED until admitted; 24/7 respiratory therapy is dedicated to the ED
- Nurses perform their own lab draws and IV starts
- Support staff includes 5–6 nurse aides/paramedics per shift, security, safety sitters, and a central monitoring tech
- In-department pharmacy coverage 11 hours per day with 24/7 on-campus pharmacy support
- Charge nurses are present on the unit
- EMR: MEDITECH 6.15 (experience required)
Requirements
- Active RN license — GA or Compact license required
- Minimum 5 years of ED nursing experience required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (or ASLS), and CPI
- MEDITECH EMR experience required
- Driver's license must be submitted for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
- Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Orientation consists of 2 unit-specific shifts and must be completed within the first week of the assignment
- Time-off requests are honored only if included at the initial start of the assignment
- Caribbean Blue scrubs are required
- Attendance expectations are strictly enforced — excessive call-outs or tardiness may result in termination of assignment
