Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification and experience with PET/CT imaging.
Details
- Located on the 1st floor Radiology department of a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
- Specialty focus in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging
- Common diagnoses and treatments include cardiac, bone, and gallbladder studies
- Equipment includes a GE 5-Ring PET/CT, GE Hawkeye SPECT/CT, and a GE 830 SPECT Camera (currently being installed)
- EMR is Cerner
- Monday–Friday day shift, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
- Periodic on-call required every 3rd week, typically 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM, covering weekdays and/or weekends
- Float requirement within Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT
Requirements
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required
- Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT certification required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- NM state license required if applicable
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- 1–2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience required
- Proficiency with IV access and post-processing procedures required
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- US Social Security Number required for consideration

Pros
Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.
Cons
It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
