Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring 5 years of OR experience, Epic proficiency, and a valid NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work setting is a general OR at a hospital
- Surgical specialties include General, Orthopedic, Urology, GYN, C-sections, Ophthalmology, Vascular, Dental, and ENT
- Average daily census of 93 cases
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with shifts running 6:45 AM to 5:00 PM
- On-call required 1 day per week (M–F) and 1 weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active NC or compact state RN license required
- Minimum 5 years of OR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: PALS and CNOR
- Epic EMR experience required
- Vascular surgery scrub skills strongly preferred, including procedures such as Carotid Endarterectomy, EVAR, TEVAR, femoral popliteal bypass, and AV fistula repair
- Experience scrubbing across multiple surgical specialties including Orthopedic, GYN, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, and Ophthalmology preferred
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- The OR RN functions as a member of the surgical team providing perioperative care before, during, and after surgery
- Role involves both technical and mechanical functions, requiring expert clinical judgment in assessing and responding to unusual intraoperative situations
- Travel experience is not required for candidates with sufficient OR experience
- Candidates must disclose all requested time off (RTO) upfront; RTO submitted after the initial profile review may not be honored
- Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Former employees of the associated health system must disclose their employment history at the time of consideration
