Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN for a Level II Trauma hospital assignment in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and 2 years of cath lab experience.
Details
- Work in the Cath Lab unit of an acute care hospital
- Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 to 17:00
- On-call required 1 day per week plus 4th/5th weekend rotation (Friday 1800 to Monday 0730)
- Weekend work required, approximately 1 Saturday per month as part of scheduled shifts
- Floating required within scope to EP or Interventional Radiology as needed
- May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required and must be in hand for offer consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Proficiency in Cath Lab procedures including cardiac catheterization, ACT monitoring, sheath removal, and dysrhythmia management
- Experience with procedural sedation monitoring and emergency medication administration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
Additional Information
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers are accepted for this role
- Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- Only one time off request permitted per 13-week assignment, approved individually upon offer
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Travelers are limited to a maximum of 1 calendar year at this assignment location before requiring a 6-month break to return
