Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a Dedicated Education Unit at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in a large or high-volume hospital setting.

Details

• 30-bed Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center — travel nurses will be providing direct patient care, not performing educational duties
• Mixed Med/Surg patient population with complex and high-acuity cases
• Patient ratio of 5–6:1
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is generally not approved
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or mid-to-large, high-volume hospital required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-acuity settings will not be considered
• Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced, and high-pressure clinical situations
• Positive attitude and strong time management skills required
