Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position requiring a PA or compact license and a minimum of 2 years of experience, with night shift availability and no local candidates considered.

Details

• Medical-Surgical unit in a community hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7PM–7AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Skills utilized include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), interpretation of dysrhythmias, wound care, heparin and insulin administration, and PCA management
• Patient population includes Med/Surg, telemetry, orthopedics, ortho trauma, total joint replacement, renal failure, and CVA cases
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
• PA fingerprinting and Childline clearance required — fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania and initiated promptly upon contract signing
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
