Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology night shift position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and BLS certification.
Details
- Hospital-based Medical Surgical Oncology unit
- Night shift schedule, 6:45 pm - 7:15 am
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift (36 hours weekly)
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required by the start of clinical care
- BLS certification required
- Two or more years of RN experience required
- One year of acute care/inpatient hospital RN experience preferred
- ACLS certification may be required for certain units, with training provided if needed
Additional Information
- Deliver patient care using the nursing process under the direction of a physician and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
- Coordinate and document plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient responses
- Prioritize care based on patient and family needs, including complex care and discharge planning
- Communicate with patients and families to develop and update care plans using cultural competency and active listening
- Foster intra- and interdepartmental collaboration to support clinical and operational excellence
- Promote a safe, clean environment through infection control and standard precautions
- Complete annual competency assessments per organizational checklist
- Reports to the Nurse Manager/Director
