Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring C-EFM (NCC) certification, at least 2 years of L&D experience, and prior travel experience.
Details
- Day shift position, 3x12-hour shifts (6:50 AM – 7:20 PM)
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Floating required to Mother/Baby and scrub (scrub experience preferred)
- Call required — 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Cerner EMR (preferred)
- Antepartum, LDRP, and high-risk antepartum case exposure
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, C-EFM (NCC), NRP, and STABLE
- ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience; 3 years preferred
- At least one prior travel assignment required
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the past 3 years
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- C-EFM (NCC) certification must be in hand at time of consideration
- Driver's license required for local radius verification
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, assisting with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulating and scrubbing for C-sections, fetal monitoring (internal and external), triage of obstetrical patients, antepartum care, postpartum care, and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Medication administration includes Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, prostaglandins, terbutaline, and anticoagulation therapy
- Procedures include amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage/shock management, IUPC placement, NST, OCT, sterile vaginal exams, and epidural/general anesthesia support
- Newborn care includes APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, ID/security banding, and radiant warmer/thermoregulation management
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted; local candidates must provide a driver's license with a matching address
- Nurses with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for a minimum of one year before being considered
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
