Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a DC RN license, NRP certification, and at least 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Hospital Labor & Delivery unit setting
• Patient population includes females of childbearing age, pregnant patients from 17 weeks gestation, laboring patients, and triage cases
• Procedures and activities include vaginal and C-section deliveries, pre-op prep, C-sections, external cephalic versions, and triage assessments, as well as unit admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Fetal monitors used on the unit
• Cerner and Fetalink used for documentation
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• On-call requirement of one shift per week
• 9-week contract

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required — no pending licensures accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in a US hospital setting
• LDRP experience and labor with postpartum (PP) experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• US Social Security Number required
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include caring for laboring patients, supporting scheduled procedures, managing triage, and facilitating admissions, discharges, and transfers
• All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
