Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring at least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience and recent Epic charting experience.

Details

Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
Med/Surg patient population with centralized telemetry monitoring
Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour options (7:00-19:30)
Patient ratio of 1:6
Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
Unit includes a free-floating charge nurse and a house discharge nurse who floats across all departments
Uses Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

Active RN license (State or Compact) currently in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience required
Recent Epic charting experience within the last 6 months preferred
Skills required include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care with nasal cannula, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management

Additional Information

Provide medical-surgical nursing care with telemetry monitoring responsibilities
First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
