Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a GA or Compact license and 2 years of ED experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Common diagnoses include HTN, diabetes, CHF, ESRD, CAD, abdominal pain, STEMI/NSTEMI, pulmonary embolism, COPD, and behavioral health cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:00 to 06:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• EBRR and GSCC certifications preferred (can be completed onsite if not held)
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required: respiratory care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, emergency medications, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and central line care/management preferred
• Experience caring for ventilated patients preferred
• Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure preferred
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and managing psychiatric or violent behavior patients

• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission
• Blackout dates apply from 4/5/2026 to 4/11/2026
• Holiday coverage required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment, both must be worked with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment, two must be worked
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Full compliance required to start on time
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or receive a DNR from a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
