Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- 48-hour work weeks approved
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating between units and sister facilities required based on skill set
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and wound care
- May float to other units or sister facilities within the health system based on skill set and staffing needs
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Any color scrubs accepted for this unit
- No parking fees at this facility
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- First-time travelers will be screened for consideration
- Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius unless applying under local candidate terms
