Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring cardiac step-down and open-heart recovery experience.

Details

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
  • Cardiac patient population including heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, post-op open-heart, and other cardiac/med-surg step-down patients
  • Night shift schedule (7p – 7:30a)
  • Typically scheduled every 3rd weekend
  • Typically covers 1 holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing
  • No regular on-call requirement, though rare call days may be requested during fluctuating census/staffing
  • Float to other units may be required during low volume or coverage needs, though not typical
  • May occasionally care for ventilated patients despite this not being a typical unit admission
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 3 years cardiac step-down experience required
  • Experience with open-heart recovery patients required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Comfortable providing care to ventilated patients if needed

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac step-down nursing care including monitoring cardiac drips and recovery from heart cath and open-heart procedures
  • Returning travelers within 9 months of a prior assignment may be considered for alternate start dates
