Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric RN Case Manager for a 13-week assignment requiring an active AK RN license and pediatric case management experience.
Details
- Works in the Case Management department of a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital
- Focuses on pediatric case management
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, with start times ranging between 0700-0830
- Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Scrubs provided by facility
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required in hand
- BLS certification preferred
- ACM-RN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Pediatric case management experience required
- Acute care hospital experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Community hospital and Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Experience with case management/utilization review functions such as admission criteria, care coordination, continued stay reviews, medical necessity determination, pre-cert review, and prior authorizations
- Familiarity with InterQual and Milliman guidelines preferred
- Knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, and Joint Commission standards
- 2 supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
- Copy of certifications required for consideration
- Hep B vaccination required (titers or declination not accepted)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include care coordination, needs assessment, DME ordering, plan of care development, and worker's comp case management
- Facility is recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Only 1 time off request of 5 days or less permitted per 13-week assignment, with no holiday RTO
- Local candidates not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former Providence permanent staff must have a minimum 3-month separation before returning as a traveler
- Travelers are limited to a maximum of 1 calendar year per assignment location, followed by a required 6-month break before returning to the same facility
- Parking is free
- Housing options in the area may be limited
