Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring Epic experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Community hospital Emergency Department setting
  • Combined adult/pediatric general ED with 1:4 patient ratio
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, ENCP, FHM, TNCC
  • Skills in managing psychiatric patients, acute psychosis, drug overdose, and violent behavior
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management skills
  • Experience starting and maintaining IVs and administering IV medications
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
  • Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Isolation precautions/PPE and triage skills
  • Neuro-trauma experience
  • First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient presentations including psychiatric, respiratory, cardiac, and neurological cases
  • Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center with Level I and II Trauma capabilities
  • Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall during the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Full compliance required to start on time
  • Previous Piedmont Health employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
