Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring Epic experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- Community hospital Emergency Department setting
- Combined adult/pediatric general ED with 1:4 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENCP, FHM, TNCC
- Skills in managing psychiatric patients, acute psychosis, drug overdose, and violent behavior
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management skills
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs and administering IV medications
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
- Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience preferred
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Isolation precautions/PPE and triage skills
- Neuro-trauma experience
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient presentations including psychiatric, respiratory, cardiac, and neurological cases
- Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center with Level I and II Trauma capabilities
- Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall during the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to submission
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Previous Piedmont Health employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
