Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 3+ years of experience for a Level III Trauma hospital setting, requiring ARRT(R)(CT) certification and independent peripheral IV insertion skills.

Details

  • Inpatient and outpatient CT scanning across 4 rooms with an average caseload of 12-24 patients per day
  • Level 3 Trauma hospital with 237 beds, 59 ED treatment areas, and a substantial volume of Stroke Alerts
  • Treats patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics
  • Performs CT scans on IP, ER, and OP patients following facility protocols and policies
  • Day shift schedule, 2x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Saturday-Sunday
  • Uses Siemens and Philips CT scanners, Epic EMR, and Fuji PACS
  • May float within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Up to 4 on-call days (24-hour periods) may be assigned with 2-week prior notice
  • Works every other weekend unless otherwise specified

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of CT Technologist experience
  • Current BLS and ARRT (R)(CT) certification required
  • GA or Compact RN license required if applicable
  • Must be able to independently start peripheral IVs
  • Experience with abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, spine, and musculoskeletal CT imaging
  • Experience with special procedures including brain perfusion and vascular CTA
  • Experience in adult acute care, adult outpatient, emergency department, and ICU settings
  • Ability to consent patients for procedures
  • Experience with PACS, Philips, and Siemens CT equipment preferred

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Perform CT scans, start IVs, and obtain patient consent as part of daily responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment alongside technologists, nurses, doctors, and transporters
  • Gray scrub color required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to acceptance
  • If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work them with no holiday RTO permitted
  • If three major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were cancelled or given a Do Not Return must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying
