Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LDRP position requiring couplet care experience and a KS or compact RN license.

Details

• , Works in the LDRP unit of an acute care hospital with a Trauma Level 3 designation
• Unit features 12 LDRP rooms, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 1 triage bed
• Handles approximately 1.5 births per day (50-60 per month)
• Follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Patient population includes L&D, postpartum, and mother/baby care with couplet care model
• RNs circulate in the OR as needed
• Required to titrate drips, including pitocin
• Charge nurse typically carries a patient assignment
• 1 surgical tech supports the unit
• OB/neonatologist and anesthesia are not in-house 24/7
• No adult telemetry monitoring on this unit, but fetal monitoring is required using GE and OBIX EFM systems
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend requirement
• No holiday requirements
• Must float between L&D, postpartum, and mother/baby units, as well as provide helping hands to other units as needed
• Call or standby requirement per hospital policy
• Any professional colored scrubs permitted

Requirements

• , Active KS or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• LDRP experience required, including couplet care and OR circulating skills
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor & delivery, postpartum, and mother/baby units using a couplet care model
• Unit/department specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• Float radius policy applies, requiring travelers to float within their hired zone and secure housing accordingly
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility associated with the health system within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
