Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for Inpatient Rehab with at least 2 years of acute care/inpatient rehab experience and an NC PT license.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8s, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Patient population includes orthopedic, neurologic, and post-surgical cases such as total hip/knee replacement, spinal surgery, stroke rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury
- Utilizes safe patient handling equipment and techniques to facilitate patient mobility
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of acute care/inpatient rehab experience required
- NC Board of Physical Therapy License required if applicable
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- BLS certification required
- Experience with assessment, body mechanics, and orthopedic and neurologic conditions
- Skilled in developing home exercise programs and providing patient/family education
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation of progress and outcomes
- Provides direction and supervision to physical therapist assistants and rehab techs
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team including physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Educates patients and families on home exercise programs and continued care
- Mentors students and new team members as part of ongoing department development
- Not open to first-time travelers
- Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
