Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with NICU and Level 2 nursery experience for a 13-week night shift assignment in an acute care hospital setting.
Details
- Inpatient acute care setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
- Patient population is mostly adults with occasional pediatric patients through the ED
- Handles approximately 25 treatments per day
- Uses PB 980, Philips V60, and Respironics Lumis equipment
- Utilizes Epic EMR
- Full-time night shift, 1900-0730, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 4+ RTs on staff during night shift with a lead therapist on every shift
- Weekend rotation required
- One holiday required per assignment
- No call or standby call requirement
- No floating requirements
- Hospitalist/Intensivist coverage available 24/7
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- RRT or CRT certification accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- Must have strong Level 2 nursery experience, competent with bubble CPAP for infants 32 weeks and up
- NICU experience required
- Ventilator skills required
- Experience with ABG draws, BiPAP and ventilator setup, nebulizer treatments, and conscious sedation/cardioversion standby
- Able to assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)
- WA state RT license required
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, BiPAP and ventilator setup, administering nebulizer treatments, and providing conscious sedation and cardioversion standby support
- Assists with intubation but does not perform independently
- Personal scrubs permitted in any color
- Department-specific orientation provided, 12 hours
- Unit manager will conduct a phone interview as part of the profile review process
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
