Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with NICU and Level 2 nursery experience for a 13-week night shift assignment in an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Inpatient acute care setting within the Respiratory Therapy department
• Patient population is mostly adults with occasional pediatric patients through the ED
• Handles approximately 25 treatments per day
• Uses PB 980, Philips V60, and Respironics Lumis equipment
• Utilizes Epic EMR
• Full-time night shift, 1900-0730, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 4+ RTs on staff during night shift with a lead therapist on every shift
• Weekend rotation required
• One holiday required per assignment
• No call or standby call requirement
• No floating requirements
• Hospitalist/Intensivist coverage available 24/7

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• RRT or CRT certification accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Must have strong Level 2 nursery experience, competent with bubble CPAP for infants 32 weeks and up
• NICU experience required
• Ventilator skills required
• Experience with ABG draws, BiPAP and ventilator setup, nebulizer treatments, and conscious sedation/cardioversion standby
• Able to assist with intubation (independent intubation not required)
• WA state RT license required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, BiPAP and ventilator setup, administering nebulizer treatments, and providing conscious sedation and cardioversion standby support
• Assists with intubation but does not perform independently
• Personal scrubs permitted in any color
• Department-specific orientation provided, 12 hours
• Unit manager will conduct a phone interview as part of the profile review process
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
