Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic proficiency in a day-shift hospital setting.
Details
- Float pool position based in the Ortho unit with floating to Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU units as needed
- Day shift schedule, 7:00AM-7:30PM, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- Level 1 Trauma center environment
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- No on-call requirements
- 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
- Rotating holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care across multiple inpatient units including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, and Advanced Care
- Conducts patient assessments, develops and implements care plans, and evaluates ongoing patient needs
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality patient care
- May precept staff from various units as needed
- Responsible for identifying and reporting safety hazards and incidents
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
