Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring a PA or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a community hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) rotation required
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• No call requirements
• Floating to MS/Tele units required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• 2 years of specialty experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with acute inpatient rehab, blood glucose monitoring, and central line/port care and management required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a general medical-surgical population including orthopedic, neurological, respiratory, and gastrointestinal cases
• Perform skills such as IV therapy, wound care, tracheostomy care, and cardiac monitoring as needed
• Support fall risk assessment, infection prevention, and pain management protocols
• PA fingerprint clearance (Childline and FP results within 12 months) required prior to start, which may involve travel
• Pass/fail clinical exam required for clearance with a maximum of 3 attempts
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; requests after submission will not be accepted
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
