Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a fast-paced Emergency Department role requiring 2+ years of experience and hands-on Siemens FORCE scanner proficiency.
Details
- Position based in the Emergency Department of a 500+ bed hospital
- Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Daily caseload of 150-200 scans across 4 rooms
- Typical individual caseload is 8-12 patients per 8-hour shift
- Performs routine ED scans, Code Stroke, and some trauma cases
- Uses Siemens (S3000, Sequoia) and GE scanners
- EMR systems include Epic and Visage
- 13-week contract with option for longer assignment
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- Schedule includes 2x12-hour Night shifts (19:00-07:00) on Saturday and Sunday, plus 1x12-hour Mid shift (15:00-03:00) on Monday
- No call requirement
- No floating requirement
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
- 500+ bed hospital experience required
- Siemens FORCE scanner experience required
- Some trauma experience required
- BLS, ARRT(R), and ARRT(CT) certification required
- License required if applicable
- Experience with Inpatient, ER, and Adult ICU settings
- CT procedure experience in abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging
- Experience with brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
- Epic charting experience required
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Outpatient, IV starts, PACS, contrast administration, and Visage experience preferred
Additional Information
- Fast-paced Emergency Department environment
- First shift typically staffed with 4-5 techs, second shift with 2-3 techs, third shift with 1 tech, and weekends with 2 techs
- Performs preparation and administration of contrast media, peripheral IV starts, and venipuncture
- Responsible for radiation safety and isolation precautions/PPE compliance
- Image display and post-processing including multiplanar reconstruction and region of interest measurement
- Scrubs not provided; royal blue scrub color required
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Weekend schedule includes Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with no weekend RTO permitted
- No RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved (excluding holidays); additional RTO requires facility approval
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
- Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
- Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying
- Pre-start modules required (8-10 hours for acute care roles), completed prior to start and annually
