Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a fast-paced Emergency Department role requiring 2+ years of CT experience, 500+ bed hospital experience, and Siemens FORCE/GE scanner proficiency.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a large acute care hospital
• Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Daily caseload of 150-200 scans across 4 rooms
• Typical caseload per tech is 8-12 patients per 8-hour shift
• Performs CT procedures including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
• Handles routine ED patients, Code Stroke cases, and some trauma patients
• Uses Siemens S3000 and Sequoia scanners as well as GE scanners
• Charting systems include Epic and Visage
• Weekend schedule includes Saturday, Sunday, and Monday shifts
• Shift options include 2x12 hour nights (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) plus 1x12 hour evening (3:00 PM-3:00 AM), or 3x12 hour evening/night shifts
• No call requirement
• No floating requirement
• 13-week minimum contract with potential for longer assignments
• 36 hours per week can be offered

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
• 500+ bed hospital experience required
• Some trauma experience required
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• BLS, ARRT(R), and ARRT(CT) certifications required
• License required if applicable
• Required experience with Siemens FORCE and GE scanners
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills required include abdomen and pelvis CT, contrast administration, IV starts, venipuncture, and PACS
• Experience with vascular CTA, coronary CTA, brain perfusion, and head/neck CT preferred
• Experience with multiplanar reconstruction (MRP) and region of interest (ROI) measurement
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety required

Additional Information

• Work in a very fast-paced Emergency Department environment
• First shift typically staffed with 4-5 techs, second shift with 2-3 techs, third shift with 1 tech, and weekends with 2 techs
• Scrubs are not provided; royal blue scrubs required
• Weekly orientation schedule with start dates subject to change based on class and trainer availability
• Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week and must be fully available to accommodate schedule changes
• Pre-start modules required (8-10 hours for acute care roles), completed online and annually
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved excluding holidays; no RTO allowed during first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered as long as they meet the 2-year experience requirement
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying as travelers, with facility approval required
• Travel pairs are allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
