Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of recent critical care experience for a day shift position requiring SC RCP licensure and travel experience.
Details
- Works within a hospital respiratory therapy department across multiple critical care and specialty areas
- Patient population includes adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, pediatric critical care, and pediatrics
- Patient ratio of 1:8
- Utilizes Epic charting system
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45am-7:15pm
- Includes holiday rotation
- Weekend requirement of every other weekend
- No on-call requirement
- Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
- No floating to sister facilities
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience required
- RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
- South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license required in hand at time of start; license required if applicable
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and NBRC (RRT), all in hand at time of start
- Epic charting system experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Valid driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform respiratory therapy duties including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway management
- Provide care involving intubation/extubation assistance, tracheostomy management, and oral/nasal suctioning
- Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems, including bronchodilators and inhaled steroids
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal/pediatric respiratory support
- Utilize CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula therapies
- Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
- Free parking available on-site
- Facility is a 396-bed hospital
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for approval consideration
- Radius rule of 60 miles applies; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed for this position
